Tracey Bishop, Senior Carer

I am delighted to have been involved in helping Sarah create and develop this unique Dog Day Care, and to continue to support her in my role as Senior Carer by gaining further qualifications in Canine Care, Welfare and Behaviour.  I became fascinated in the bond that is shared between dog and owner after reading an old book ‘Emma & I’ about a Guide Dog and her owner.  This led me to volunteer as a Puppy Walker for Guide Dogs for the Blind; I saw it as an opportunity to raise a puppy for the first year of its life and learn about socialisation, training and behaviour.  My first pup was a black Labrador/Retriever X called Heidi who qualified as a working Guide Dog 18 months later.  That was it – I was smitten - and I went on to have six more puppies, receiving the Guide Dog Volunteer Long Service award in 2021.  During my time with Guide Dogs I made some wonderful friends, including Sarah, the owner of Pipers and now I have a whole new career in dog day care, which I love!
