Hi, I’m Sarah, owner and lead carer of Pipers Day Care for Dogs.  As a small start-up business in 2021, I am extremely proud of the day care that we have built today.  We are the first ‘creche-style’ dog day care in our area, the first commercial day care to be licensed by Maldon District Council and the first to be awarded five-star status.  Our promise is always to enrich your dog’s life through socialisation, stimulation, relaxation and play; and we consistently deliver this promise with our bespoke facilities, exceptionally high standards, our genuine love for dogs and lots of hard work!

When I was given my first dog, a golden Cocker Spaniel named Muffin, I knew then that dogs would be in my life forever.  After Muffin came my Welsh Springer Spaniels - sisters, Kelsey and Briar.  I have wonderful memories of my girls and they were very well-travelled, living not just in the UK but in Ireland and France too.  For a number of years I was ‘dog-less’ while I focused on my career, and then I made a life-changing decision and volunteered as a Puppy Walker for Guide Dogs for the Blind.  I had the time of my life – taking on 7-week-old puppies, raising, socialising and training them until they were over a year old and ready for ‘big school’.  The puppies I cared for - Bess, Hattie and Quala – all qualified as working guide dogs and the experience taught me a great deal about the importance of basic obedience training and early socialisation.

Working with Guide Dogs for the Blind triggered a desire to set up my own Dog Day Care business.  To learn more about dog care and behaviour I studied at Writtle College, Level 2 and Level 3 in Canine Care, Management and Training, achieving Distinction in both qualifications, and have since completed courses in Canine First Aid and Advanced Canine Behaviour for Dog Care Professionals.

Today, Pipers Day Care for Dogs is everything I dreamed it would be, and more.  Our reputation as a ‘high-end’ dog day care continues to build.  We have the most caring and experienced team.  Our clients are so lovely and supportive.   And we take our responsibility of caring for all our day care dogs very seriously indeed; we know just how precious they are!
